How To Use

Semi Permanent Hair Color
1. Start with clean, unconditioned, dry hair. For full color payoff/coverage, our hair color works best with pre-lightened platinum to pale blonde hair.
2. Use petroleum jelly or coconut oil around the hairline and on ears.
3. Use protective gloves and apply the color evenly from roots to ends with a tinting brush. Find everything you need to DIY your dye with At Home Hair Color Kit.
4. Leave color in for 30 to 45 minutes. No heat/cap required! For brighter & longer-lasting results, let the color sit for 1 hour. (Don't worry, Insert Color Here has a conditioning formula, so it won’t damage your hair.)
5. Rinse your hair in cool or lukewarm water until it feels clean.
6. Pro tip: hair color may stain clothing or other surfaces. We suggest using towels or newspaper to protect your work surfaces. Wear an old t-shirt or use old towels to protect skin and clothing from color staining. Rinse color completely & dry hair to prevent post color transfer.

1. Squeeze a dime-sized amount to start, smoothing it in your hands to evenly distribute the creme, then apply the Got to Grow conditioner from mid-length to ends.
2. Let the powerful nourishing ingredients of the Got to Grow conditioner soak in for about 2-4 minutes before rinsing thoroughly
3. Your Got To Grow Haircare Routine: For best results, shampoo with Got to Grow shampoo. Once hair is towel dried, apply Got to Grow scalp serum.

At Home Hair Color Kit
1. Start by preparing your workspace. Lay down some old towels or newspapers to protect the area from any accidental spills or stains.
2. Slip on the Latex-free Gloves to protect your hands during color processing.
3. Place the Mixing Bowl on a flat surface & use the Pro Tint Brush to mix your hair color formula or treatment (SOLD SEPARATELY).
4. Section hair using the Shark Clips.
5. Use your Pro Tint Brush to apply mixture thoroughly & evenly to hair sections from roots to ends.
6. Apply your Hair Cap while color processes.
7. Rinse hair thoroughly or complete the process as directed on your hair coloring products’ instructions manual.
8. Rinse your Tint Brush, Mixing Bowl, and Shark Clips. Let air dry. Store.

Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner fades gradually with every wash, typically 6-12 washes— but the number of washes depends on various factors like the condition of your hair and the products you use. Use a clarifying shampoo and wash your hair frequently to fade color faster.

For faster transitions: We recommend that the next color you choose be darker than the previous color to cover any potential fade out discoloration.

For the most vivid & bold hues: Wait until your current color completely fades out before you recolor. *Darker hair colors may take longer to fade, while pre-lightened hair lasts the longest. For complete removal, you may want to consult with your professional hair stylist.

Do I need to bleach my hair to apply a semi permanent hair color?

Although you don’t NEED to bleach your hair, Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner works best on pre lightened hair as the perfect base for vibrant, long-lasting results. If you’re starting with naturally light hair you can see bright results too! If you’re going to bleach your hair or do any lightening process we recommend asking for help from a professional stylist because bleaching at home can cause permanent damage to your hair.

What is the best level of hair to apply semi permanent hair color?

The level of your hair is determined by your hair’s shade & hair porosity. These are the best levels as a base for semi-permanent color for brightest color payoff:

Level 7: Light Brown
Level 8: Medium Blonde
Level 9: Light Blonde
Level 10: Platinum

Will semi permanent hair color cover my grays?

While there’s a chance that our Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner might cover your grays, it is not guaranteed. Our conditioning semi permanent hair colors are deposit-only, which means that naturally gray or white strands can sometimes prevent color from depositing.

How do I get a lighter pastel color?

Feel free to dilute the color by adding G2G Hair Conditioner to mix in with the semi permanent hair color. We suggest adding conditioner first then gradually mixing in color as desired. When applying conditioner with hair dye, it is recommended that you follow a 1:3 ratio, 1 part color & 3 parts conditioner. You can also mix Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner in your G2G Hair Conditioner bottle for an easy way to refresh and revive your color.

Can I use more than one fantasy color at a time?

You can mix the shades to achieve a different shade but please note we do not recommend mixing darker/deeper shades together!

Tip: We recommend mixing a very small batch together first and testing on a strand near the nape to ensure you like the resulting shade.

How do I know if I'm allergic to semi permanent hair color?

While we pride ourselves in using safe plant-based ingredients, when trying any new hair product we recommend doing a patch test before dyeing your whole head.

How to perform a patch test?

- Use a cotton swab and apply a small amount of product to the skin near the nape of your neck.
- Allow it to dry and leave it on for 24 hours
- If there is any redness or irritation, discontinue use of the product.

How often can I color my hair with semi permanent color?

We recommend you wait at least 1-2 weeks between hair color applications to keep your hair looking & feeling its best.

Can you use semi permanent hair color on natural virgin hair?

Semi Permanent Hair Color Conditioner is safe to use for all hair types, but keep in mind it will look more vibrant if you have a light blonde shade, other natural colors may not pick up pigment as easily.

Pro Tip: Apply your dye to baby hairs around your scalp and neck last, as they pick up pigment the fastest.

So vibrant!!!
I used “Flamingo Topaz” and absolutely adore it. This is such a unique shade of pink. It is super vibrant and really does remind me of a jewel. I had blonde roots and a light purple on my ends. It covered my hair very well, so if you have existing color you may be able to cover it. It was so easy to apply. I have gotten so many compliments already! I can’t wait to try other colors from Insert Color Here.

Awesome dye, stains your skin though. Buy a color sealer!!
This is probably the best dye I've come across in a while! This is my hair after 5-6 washes. I wash it once a week. The coverage is really good- I bleached my hair before putting the color. I purchased two containers and went through about half of one to do my hair, required less than I thought but thats a good thing! The only thing I didn't like at first was that it stains your face and ears badly when sleeping. I bought Ion color sealer conditioner and that made it so that the issue would stop. I still wake up with my ears slightly colored but it's easy to clean with a makeup/baby wipe. I'll still give it 5 stars for being a good price and being such a nice green. I have Emerald in btw.
