How to Straighten Synthetic Hair

How to Straighten Synthetic Hair

Hey babes!💓

Ready to bring on the heat? ;) Today’s blog is all about straightening synthetic hair! Most of our products are made from Japanese synthetic fibers, which means that besides being silky smooth and looking just like your hair, they are heat resistant up to 400 degrees.

Even though you can straighten all of our synthetic pieces, keep in mind that some of them come pre-styled. Ponies like Shayla and Molly have been pre-curled, so once you straighten them, they will not be able to get their original texture back. Double check the product description before straightening if you’re not sure if the piece has been prestyled!

We do recommend straightening our Miya and Ariana ponytails if you want a sleeker look! These ponies come pre-styled with a yaki perm for added volume, but if you want to tone down the volume then whip out your straightener!

✨Step 1: Tame those Tangles✨

First things first, make sure the hair is tangle free! We recommend using either a wide tooth comb or paddle brush. Lay your piece on a flat surface and brush starting from the ends. Work your way up to the roots to avoid any breakage

✨Step 2: Heat Protectant is Key ✨

Just like you would with your own hair, spray the hair with your fav heat protectant! If you are straightening a wig, we recommend placing it on a wig head or stand to make the process easier!

✨Step 3: Bring the heat in✨

Time for a lil’ transformation! Plug in your straightener and set the heat to around 250-300 degrees. Just because the hair can take up to 400 degrees of heat, doesn’t mean it should! That’s a lil’ excessive lol. Start straightening the hair like you would your own! Split into sections and straighten from root to tip. Let the pieces cool for a few minutes, and you’re ready for the final step!

✨Step 4: Brush me, baby one more time✨

Once the hair has cooled, go through and brush from ends to roots one more time! This will help make sure you have the smoothest look possible.
