What’s Included:
Every hair color is 6 oz and comes with detailed instructions on how to use the product.
How will it look on my hair?
Wondering how Insert Color Here will look with your specific hair shade? Our hair colors contain a higher pigment and deliver a more saturated/brighter color result to pre-bleached platinum to medium blonde hair. For naturally dark blonde to light/medium brown hair, the result is a colored tint.
We have 5 different color swatches on our website that you can compare your own hair to. If there isn’t an exact match, you can decide which color your hair is most similar to and view your potential results.
Before You Apply
You’re excited to color your hair, and we’re excited for you! But first, we recommend performing a patch test. Additionally, you should perform a strand test to see if you’re satisfied with the color saturation.
How to perform a patch test
1. Use a cotton swab and apply a small amount of product to the skin near the nape of your neck.
2. Allow it to dry and leave it on for 24 hours
3. If there is any redness or irritation, discontinue use of the product.
How to perform a strand test
1. Take a small, 1 inch section of hair from below the ear
2. Apply the color to the strand and leave it on for 45 minutes
3. Rinse out the color
4. If you enjoy the end result, you may proceed with coloring the rest of your hair.
How to Apply Hair Color
Alright you might be wondering to yourself, how does this work? So let’s get into it step by step!
Before we get started:
1. Prep gloves, applicator brush, clips, bowl, & an old t-shirt or cape.
2. Cover all surfaces and clothing you do not want to get hair dye on.
3. Spread Vaseline around your ears and hairlines before coloring to minimize stains on your skin during coloring.
Pro Tip: Have alcohol wipes handy in case you get color on surfaces. (We get it, accidents happen!) Immediately wipe off surfaces for best results.
Application:
1. Start with clean, unconditioned, dry hair. For full color payoff/coverage, our hair color works best with pre-bleached platinum to pale blonde hair.
2. While wearing protective gloves, pour the desired amount of hair color into a bowl.
Pro Tip: For a less vibrant look, feel free to add your own moisturizing conditioner to mix in with the semi permanent hair color. You can also mix Insert Color Here in your regular conditioner bottle for an easy way to refresh and revive your color.
3. Section hair into 4 even sections (front to back and side to side). Then secure with clips. Working with 1” wide strands, apply color evenly from root to tip with an applicator brush (your fingers work too).
4. Begin at the root of the hair, applying color evenly through to the ends. Massage each strand with fingers from root to tip, for even distribution.
5. Leave color in for 30 to 45 minutes. No heat/cap required! For brighter & longer-lasting results, let the color sit for 1 hour. (Don't worry, Insert Color Here has a conditioning formula, so it won’t damage your hair.)
6. Rinse your hair in cool or lukewarm water until it feels clean. More intense shades may not rinse clear for the first few washes. We do not recommend using shampoo after rinsing. Conditioner is optional.
Hair Color Hacks:
1. Use isopropyl alcohol to wipe off surfaces & use eye make-up remover to help remove dye around hairlines.
2. On the first day after you color your hair, lay a towel on your pillow & make sure your hair is dry before bed to prevent stains on fabric.
3. Have your bestie stand-by & assist you with hard-to-reach areas on your head :)

Color Transition & Removal Process
Transition:
If you wish to transition to another color, we recommend slowly transitioning as your current color fades out. If you would like a faster transition, we recommend that the next color you choose be darker than the previous shade to cover any potential fadeout discoloration. For the best results, we suggest waiting until your current color completely fades out.
Removal:
Insert Color Here is made to fade away gradually & gracefully. While some see a major difference in color after 6-10 washes, this result may vary depending on various hair factors. Use a clarifying, sulfate-free shampoo & wash your hair frequently for optimal removal results. For a complete removal, you may have to consult with a professional hair stylist.

@KAE – Hi! Thank you for your feedback. For best results, start with clean, unconditioned, dry hair. Please let us know if you need anything else or if you have other questions.
Can you put the color in with damp hair? Or does it need to be fully dry?
Eve Mitchell : You’re most welcome! If you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us anytime! :)
Thanks for the tip about sleeping on a towel after dying your hair. My daughter wants to get her hair colored. I’m hoping to make an appointment for her at a salon near us. https://www.lusciousandco.com/color/
