The reason? To attend the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
Amidst all the glamor and the warm French sun, celebs walked the red carpet exuding charm, oomph, and style.
But you know us. We're a sucker for hair! So we couldn't help but choose our favorite hairstyles from all the red carpet looks.

10. Katherine Langford
The 13 Reasons Why actor gave us many reasons to love her this award season. Katherine was seen in a glittering silver custom Prada gown as she walked the Cannes red carpet for the screening of Final Cut (Coupez!). The silver Prada gown had a gigantic bow in the back, adding some wow factor.
And she absolutely slayed her hairstyle! With a sexy gelled-back look, her dark brown strands were twisted back in a sleek updo by hairstylist Stephanie Lancien. It gave her a chic-slash-punk-rock look that perfectly complemented her glitzy Prada outfit.
It was the actor's first Cannes appearance as a L'Oreal Paris ambassador. And she sure made a style statement!
9. Emily Ratajkowski
When in France, do it like the French. And EmRata did exactly that!
The world-famous supermodel walked the Cannes red carpet in a gorgeous black Miu Miu lace gown. But what stole the entire look was her stunning long brunette hair with beachy wave curls and Parisian French Girl bangs.

8. Eva Longoria
The Desperate Housewives actress upped the glamor in Cannes this year with her look. She made her red carpet appearance as a L'Oreal brand ambassador with the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachhan and Elle Fanning.
As for the outfit, Longoria slipped into a sexy disco-ball-esque shimmery silver gown with off-shoulders and paired it with silver platform heels. The body-hugging dress accentuated her curves and her dramatic smokey eye just made it all better.
But what we especially loved about her look was the hair. Eva pulled her brunette locks into a half up half down ponytail that perfectly contrasted her outfit. We heart <3
7. Deepika Padukone
This year, the beautiful Indian actress was a jury member of the Cannes film board. And on the red carpet, the Bollywood star dropped one glam look after the other...But it was her hair that made us go weak in the knees. Our fav just may be this sleek bun look!
6. Bella Hadid
The Cannes red carpet is incomplete without the iconic looks served by Bella Hadid. Every year, Bella graces the red carpet wearing avant-garde designs with statement hairstyles and jewelry. This year was no different.
The international supermodel and younger of the Hadid sisters radiated old Hollywood glamor in a vintage Versace black gown. And ngl, she looked like a million bucks! Hadid was the definition of chic elegance.
What caught our eye was her classy hairstyle. The fashionista went for a tightly braided bun updo and loose strands of hair casually falling over her face (iconic!) It was the perfect chignon. Very few people can rock a chignon, and Bella Hadid is surely one of them!
5. Sara Sampaio
The Portuguese model and Victoria's Secret Angel attended the Cannes 2022 premiere screening for Decision To Leave. Sampaio looked like a dream in a gorgeous red off-shoulder Zuhair Murad gown with a bold thigh-high split. She had us go gaga over her fairytale-style hair - with loose cascading waves in lengths and front braids that perfectly framed her square face.
4. Winnie Harlow
Winnie Harlow looked every bit "The Belle of The Ball" in her Cinderella-style romantic ball gown. This was the model and activist's second appearance on the Cannes red carpet. And we're sure there's gonna be many more in the years to come! Winnie's custom off-white dress was designed by the late Virgil Abloh. The America’s Next Top Model alumna channeled old Hollywood glamor in her look, with her hair swept back into a chic side parting and dark luscious waves cascading down her back. Anyone else in love? Just us? Okk!
3. Kristen Stewart
After Bella Hadid, Kristen Stewart is another Cannes red carpet staple. This year, the style icon and Chanel's favorite girl did not disappoint, serving one iconic look after another. And she made sure to keep her platinum blonde hair in the center of it all.
For the movie screening of Crimes of The Future, Stewart rocked a turtleneck Chanel top with a plain white skirt. What completed the chic-meets-glam look was her messy ponytail. Kristen wore her platinum blonde locks into a wavy ponytail with a few strands left loose for a wispy, textured look. It was iconic. Enuf said.
2. Anne Hathaway
We can all agree that Anne Hathaway is no stranger to the red carpet, right? Over the years, Anne has stunned us with her gorgeous looks - be it in the Oscars, BAFTA, or Golden Globes. This year, Ms. Hathaway brought the heat to the Cannes red carpet as she attended the premiere for her upcoming movie Armageddon - in everything from an Armani Prive gown to a hot pink Valentino. In each of her looks, Anne looked like a vision. At 39, she proves that age is really just a number!
Out of all her jaw-dropping looks, what stood out to us was her pretty brunette locks in a vintage blue Gucci dress (see pic below to know what we're talking about!) The actress collaborated with her long-time hairstylist Adir Abergel to create a petit French girl look that gave us Bridget Bardot vibes.
In Abergel's own words, the hairstyle was a “middle-parted curtain bang with a voluminous cascading curl half-up half-down style.”
1. Elle Fanning
Hair accessories are back in style, y'all! And we have Elle Fanning to thank for it.
The 24-year-old actress recently wowed us with her red carpet appearance at the 75th Cannes Film Festival as a L'Oreal brand ambassador. Ahead of the Top Gun: Maverick screening, she walked the red carpet in a white embellished Armani Prive that gave us serious princess vibes! But it was her hair that stole the show.
With a deep side part, Elle's buttery blonde tresses were fixed with a sugar-sweet hair clip or barrette, as the French like to call it. That cute hair clip was giving serious competition to the Chopard diamonds Elle was wearing. Honestly, we are in love with Elle's look. In our books, she is our Cannes show-stopper!
